Gun Violence Prevention
At the Struggle of Love Foundation, we take a unique approach to gun violence prevention. Instead of focusing on enforcing or banning gun laws, we focus on your safety. Our goal is to educate, equip, and provide resources so that no more lives in our community are lost to gun violence. From teaching safe and responsible open carry practices to demonstrating how to save a life with a tourniquet or med kit, we make sure you have the tools and knowledge you need. Through videos, events, and resource distribution, we stay committed to keeping our community informed, prepared, and safe.
The Gun Violence Prevention (GVP) Initiative at the Struggle of Love Foundation is dedicated to creating safer communities through education, outreach, and resources that promote responsible gun ownership and reduce violence. Our GVP Team consists of specialists focused on preventing gun-related incidents by fostering awareness and empowering residents with practical tools and information.

Key efforts of this program include:
-
Community Engagement: Providing residents with critical information on gun violence and its impact.
-
Safe Storage Practices: Distributing FREE gun locks to prevent unauthorized access to firearms.
-
Educational Outreach: Participating in events to promote conversations around responsible gun ownership and safety measures.

One of our recent accomplishments in 2024 was participating in the Tanner Gun Show where the team successfully distributed 145 gun locks and shared essential safety information with attendees. Through these efforts, the GVP initiative works to prevent gun violence, strengthen community partnerships, and advance our mission to reduce violent crime.
